As one of the world’s funniest women, Ellen DeGeneres has had her share of ups and downs. One of her biggest challenges, or so you would think, is testing positive for COVID-19. Ellen’s journey through pandemic territory doesn’t seem so bad, at least the way she tells it.

A Little Bit About Ellen

Besides being one of the funniest celebrities in the entertainment industry, Ellen has her own talk show called The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has appeared in movies such as Finding Nemo and Dr. Dolittle, and has written some books. Perhaps one of her greatest achievements is based off of her love for animals. Portia de Rossi founded The Ellen Fund, a nonprofit organization that helps protect endangered species, and gave it to her as a gift. She’s also launched the Small Change Campaign with Ben Affleck and supports charities that aid in fighting cancer, ending bullying and beating hunger.

When She Found Out

Ellen was getting extensions put in, face powdered, and hair and makeup done when her assistant came in and told her she’d tested positive for the coronavirus. While she’s not sure where she contracted it, she jokingly says,”The weird thing is, I don’t know where I got it. I still don’t know where I got it. I wear a mask. I wash my hands. I only licked three or four door handles. It’s a mystery to me,” she said. Although she maintains a positive attitude, she does practive high standards for her fans’ safety by televising the show virtually. After learning she had Covid-19, Ellen spent some time at home. She quarantined and kept a safe distance from her wife Portia de Rossi.

Funny Women Don’t Suffer Much

Ellen didn’t have a headache, fever, or even loser her sense of taste. Possibly the only symptom she had was back pain which she said,”felt like I’d cracked a rib.” Based off of this information, funny women might have it easier than those who tend to crack jokes less often. Currently, she’s doing great, and there’s nothing to worry about.

While most people seem to complain about how horrible Covid-19 is, Ellen has the unique ability to make a joke about nearly everything. In fact, this seems to make life easier on her. Perhaps this means everyone should try not to take life and themselves so seriously, and just learn to laugh a lot more.
