Andrew Cuomo has been the governor of New York since 2011. He is in his third term and, as of now, he plans to run for a fourth term in the November 8, 2022 NYC gubernatorial election.

Will Scandals Take Down the “Love Gov”?

Governor Cuomo is the son of the late Mario Cuomo, a man who also was elected as governor of the state three times. Andrew has been in the political arena for decades. Throughout the height of the pandemic in 2020, he attracted the attention of the country because of his almost daily press conferences and appearances on television shows. Andrew frequently appeared on CNN where his brother Chris Cuomo hosts a show. The topic of his public appearances was typically about is self-proclaimed leadership skills in the hard-hit state. When he appeared on CNN, Andrew and his brother joked about him being the “love gov” of New York.

The Democrat governor is now facing a myriad of charges against him. So far, nine women have come forward and have accused Andrew Cuomo with sexual misconduct. Cuomo is divorced and in his sixties, and most of the women are in their twenties and work, or have worked, for him during his governorship. A large number of Democrats and Republicans have called for the investigations which are ongoing. Politicians from both parties and many other public figures are calling for his resignation. Cuomo denies any wrongdoing.

Why People are Making a Big Deal About His Million Dollar Book Deal

It is actually looking more like a $4,000,000 book deal according to the newest news reports. Governor Cuomo is being questioned about a book he wrote touting his handling of the pandemic using his astute leadership skills. There are several issues that are fueling the investigations and possibly pending charges for these charges. Andrew Cuomo allegedly used his office’s resources to help him write the book that is currently under fire. If it is proven to be true, that means that Andrew Cuomo had his staff members, all of whom are on the taxpayer’s payroll, to help him personally profit financially.

A Tragic Ending

The worst allegation, by far, is about the deaths of thousands of seniors in nursing homes. Cuomo ordered that nursing homes must admit Covid-19 patients causing countless unnecessary deaths. Reports reveal that Cuomo grossly under reported the death number. Andrew Cuomo denies this, and investigations continue.
