He is also a significant leader in tech companies such as Boring company, OpenAI, and Neuralink. Elon Musk is one of the tech leaders whose mission and vision focus on the future. His effort and passion drive him to become a competitive futuristic technologist. He ventures mainly on electric cars, space rockets, solar batteries, among many others. Among his primary visions of how humanity can relocate from earth to mars typically seems like science fiction. There are numerous entrepreneurial reasons why Elon Musk became an inspirational businessman for Marvel’s 2008 ‘Iron Man film.’ However, great success comes with a considerable cost. Elon Musk’s entrepreneurial journey encountered many hindrances.

Musk was born in Pretoria, SouthAfrica, in 1971. His mother, Maye, is a famous dietitian. His parent divorced while he was at the age of 9. However, they opted to live by their father together with his brother Kimbal. Later, Elon Musk’s decision to live with his dad didn’t materialize. While at school, he usually received beating from bullies. One time he was thrown off the stairs, beaten until he passed out. After high school, Elon Musk moved to Canada with his sister Tosca, Kimbal, and his mother. From there, he studied at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, for 2 years. He also attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a physics and economics degree.

Musk’s entrepreneurship started while he was at the University of Pennsylvania. In collaboration with his classmate, Adeo Ressi, they rented a 10-bedroom frat and converted it into a club. Later, they decided to launch Zip2 with his brother Kimbal. Their project received much support from Silicon Valley investors. Finally, Compaq bought their successful project, a deal that amounted to $341million, and musk’s effort paid off. His earning from Zip2 enabled him to launch PayPal, today’s most popular online banking system in the world. He became the CEO of PayPal but unfortunately lost the status after attending a vacation in Australia. However, his dreams did not cease. Musk was the biggest shareholder in PayPal and became worth $165 million after eBay bought PayPal in 2002.

Elon Musk’s earnings from sales supported his new project known as Space X. He dreamt of sending mice and plants on mars as a test and making spaceflight much cheaper by a factor of 10. His long-term objective is to make Mars exploration fruitful and affordable. He is also dealing extensively with Tesla Motors, where he started as chairman, and now, he is the CEO.
