Just when you might have thought Dolly Parton accomplished everything she’s capable of, you find out you were dead wrong. In fact, now she’s collaborating with famous author James Patterson on the book “Run, Rose, Run”. The talented singer continues to pursue new, exciting business ventures. Read on for more about these co-authors and their gripping book.

Dolly Writes Her First Novel

Although Dolly co-authored a music-focused memoir called “Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics” with Robert K. Oermann, “Run, Rose, Run” is her very first novel. While the memoir was about 175 of her songs, the novel transports the reader into the music world Dolly knows and loves, and Patterson’s skills of dramatic storytelling.

James Patterson is a Dream Co-Author

James Patterson is a best-selling author of countless books and has collaborated with other writers such as former president Bill Clinton and Maxine Paetro. Mr. Patterson is also a philanthropist. And Patterson had this to say about Dolly,“It’s been an honor — and a hell of a lot of fun — to work with the inimitable Dolly Parton, whom I’ve long admired for her music, her storytelling, and her enormous generosity.” Based off of past experiences, Patterson and Parton seem to be another perfect co-authoring match.

Read a Novel and Listen to Music

If you think reading Dolly Parton’s new novel sounds exciting, just wait until you hear the songs that were made to accompany it. The original album boasts 12 songs and has the same name as the book. Therefore, you can make the book even more interesting to read by purchasing the album too.

Singer, Co-Author and Philanthropist

Although Parton is widely known for her singing abilities, in her home state, she’s admired for her generosity as a philanthropist. Further, a few charitable organizations she’s donated funds to are Save the Music Foundation, the Boot Campaign and the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes. Otherwise, she established the Dollywood Foundation in 1988 and did plenty of other inspiring things for charity.

Not only is Ms. Parton about as charitable as it gets, but she’s also highly talented. Indeed, she’s a singer, actress, businesswoman, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, humanitarian and author. Growing up in rural Appalachia with almost no money didn’t stop her from pursuing her biggest dreams. After all, she grew up in the country and this seems to have prepared her for every obstacle she faces.
