Mark Fischbach Buys Home for Millions in Los AngelesSeptember 20, 2021
In February of 2021, the famous home of Donald Glover was put up for sale in the quaint Los Angeles suburb known as La Cañada Flintridge. While the listing quickly attracted the attention of many wealthy individuals, it was a popular YouTuber who made the final bid on the home. Mark Fischbach, a gaming YouTuber known to his fans as Markiplier, bought the home for $4 million.
It didn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Fischbach was able to offer that much more for a home that was already worth millions. The 31-year-old gamer is hailed as one of the most successful gamers of all time. Fischbach has more than 29 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and 3.8 million followers on TikTok. He is reported to have a net worth of $35 million. The popular gamer, who also has a huge following on Instagram, will be moving to his new neighborhood with Amy Nelson, his longtime partner.
Fischbach was born on June 28, 1989 and is better known by his YouTube name of Markiplier. He started his career in Cincinnati, Ohio, the same area he grew up in, and quickly became popular for his “Let’s Play” videos. These types of videos centered on online horror story games, such as the ever-popular Five Night’s at Freddy’s online game. He is also the co-founder of Cloak, a clothing company, ran by another YouTuber known as Jacksepticeye.
Fischbach was also well known as the co-host of another popular YouTube channel, Unus Annus, which was deleted as part of the spiel. He ran the channel alongside another YouTuber, Ethan Nestor, commonly known as CrankGamePlays. Together, the pair made exactly 365 videos, uploading one per day, before pulling the plug after a dramatic 12-hour live special. In the first five days, the channel drew in more than one million subscribers. In the last few minutes of the channel, it boasted 4.56 million.
This lifestyle is a big change for the one he grew up in. Fischbach is the son of a Korean mother and an Army veteran. Now known by millions, Fischbach and his partner will be living in the home that was built in 1953 by architect Keith P. Marston. With more than 3,300 square feet of living space, the pair will have plenty of room for Fischbach’s latest antics, whether for YouTube, TikTok, or any other social media platform that is bound to catch his attention.
