In his long and successful venture capital career, Bill Gross founded many companies and incubated others. He is the founder, CEO, and chair of Idealab, an incubator that focuses on new ideas and Heliogen, a Concentrated Solar power (CSP) firm; he also developed Snap and assisted in the creation of GoTo.com. His entrepreneurial exploits began in high school with the creation of Solar Devices. He used the money from the business to pay for his education at Caltech College. He is a board member in several companies in the renewable energy, software, and automation industries.
